Key Code Media was contracted to design, engineer, create shop drawings, procure equipment and build the USC Annenberg School of Communication and Journalism’s new broadcast facilities for the new Wallis Annenberg Hall at the University of Southern California. This project included Two Studios, Two Production Control, Audio Control, 48 Editing Stations with Prime Stream and MAM, Newsroom and a Radio station.
This project is unique in several aspects: At $6.7M it is unique in size for a university. Additionally, Key Code Media was working on the project while the building is under construction. Working under a contractor’s agreement with multiple consultants, project managers and trades, Key Code Media completed value engineering (cutting more than $700K from the original designs while adding functionality) and is now active in the final installation of the system. This is the second largest news room and studio in Los Angeles.
